Consultation on Technical Issues in Charity Law: an opportunity for new primary legislation

Posted by on

A consultation, by the Law Commission, on Technical Issues in Charity Law is underway and we are involved, as part of a Charity Law Association Working Party, in commenting on the consultation.  The Law Commission is looking for our practical input on issues with the current legislation and how it may be improved.

The consultation considers a wide range of charity law issues including amending charities’ governing documents, powers with regard to permanent endowment and the legislative regime on land.  The consultation ends on 3 July 2015.  The Law Commission’s recommendations following the consultation are likely to give rise to the possibility of new primary charity legislation in the future.

If you would like further information on the consultation, please see the following link to the consultation paper on Technical Issues in Charity Law.
