Associate, Private Client
Charles Lin practices in the Private Client Service Group. His areas of focus include all aspects of income, capital gains, gift, and estate tax planning, wealth and business succession planning, charitable planning, trust tax planning, and trust and probate administration. Mr. Lin also advises cross-border and multi-national individuals and families on a number of international tax and estate planning issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lin practiced at a boutique law firm based in Encino, Calif. where he concentrated on estate and tax planning, trust administration, and litigation. He was previously a Wealth Strategies Analyst with U.S. Trust, where he counseled high net-worth clients on tax and estate planning issues.
Mr. Lin graduated with his juris doctorate from Loyola Law School, where he was President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and received his LL.M. in taxation with honors from Georgetown University.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Lin was a middle school English teacher with the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Programme in the Warabi City school district of the Saitama prefecture of Japan, about five miles north of Tokyo.
